Meet Daisy Winters. She’s an offbeat sixteen-year-old Floridian with mermaid-red hair; a part time job at a bootleg Walmart, and a perfect older sister who’s nearly engaged to the Crown Prince of Scotland. Daisy has no desire to live in the spotlight, but relentless tabloid attention forces her to join Ellie at the relative seclusion of the castle across the pond.
While the dashing young Miles has been appointed to teach Daisy the ropes of being regal, the prince’s roguish younger brother kicks up scandal wherever he goes, and tries his best to take Daisy along for the ride. The crown–and the intriguing Miles–might be trying to make Daisy into a lady . . . but Daisy may just rewrite the royal rulebook to suit herself.
I don’t know why it took me so long to finally settle down and digest this book, because it is a story that deserves to be digested in one sitting, because this is one fluffy and funny book to read.
It’s about Princes and royalties of Scotland, I really don’t get how the Scottish nation work and it is very confusing because like the Scotts are called Brits? It’s clear that Prince William and Harry are the inspiration, and maybe the story was actually based in England before it was offed and Scotland made the cut. What you need to know that this work of fiction is completely far-fetched, so don’t read too much into the setting and backdrop of the story because it’s basically the author writing out a fantasy story of hers. If you’re looking for a book filled with facts etc. This is not it.
Daisy’s older sister is engaged to the Crown Prince of Scotland, which means, life is going to be completely different from the way it used to be because that somewhat makes her family upgrade from normal status to some kind of English celebrities. So now they have to be extra careful about what they do, because anything they do now is newsworthy, especially the tabloids.
In order to do damage control because life has daisy knows it is spiralling out of control, she is spending her summer in Scotland, cause finally the royal family and her bonkers of a family are going to be in the same place for a long period of time.
Throw in a bunch of scandalous teenagers and a summer filled with glam, riches and apparently pretentious things You’ll have this ball of a book.
